| 1964: | Goodwill Industries of Southern California came to Kern County and opened a retail store and offices on the corner of 19th and Q St. in Bakersfield. |
| 1977: | Offices at 19th and Q St. relocated to 901 Sacramento St. in Bakersfield. In addition to the offices, the warehouse at 901 Sacramento St. was used for centralized processing of donations as well as provided services to individuals with disabilities and disadvantages in the Kern County community. |
| 1982: | Goodwill Industries of Southern California opened a 3rd retail store in Kern County located in the Wild West Shopping Center in Bakersfield. |
| 1986: | Goodwill Industries of Kern County incorporated as an autonomous 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and officially separated from Goodwill Industries of Southern California. |
| 1987: | Goodwill Industries of Kern County opened a location in Delano on Main St. becoming the organization's 4th retail store. |
| 1988: | Wild West Shopping Center Store relocated to White Ln. and Ash Rd. in Bakersfield. |
| 1993: | White Lane Store relocated to White Ln. and Wilson Rd. in Bakersfield. |
| 1993: | Sacramento St. warehouse relocated to Stine Clearance Center off Stine Rd. and Pacheco Dr. in Bakersfield. |
| 1993: | Goodwill Industries of Kern County filed a name change with the State of California and officially became Goodwill Industries of South Central California to accurately reflect its territory of Kern, Kings, and Southern Tulare counties. |
| 1994: | Olive Drive location opened in Bakersfield inside the Olive Drive Shopping Center becoming the organization's 5th retail store. |
| 1995: | Rosedale Store opened in Bakersfield on Rosedale Hwy. becoming the organization's 6th retail store. |
| 1997: | East Hills Store opened in Bakersfield on Columbus Dr. and Mt. Vernon Ave. becoming the organization's 7th retail store. |
| 1999: | East Hills Store relocated to the East Hills Shopping Center in Bakersfield. |
| 2000: | Ridgecrest location opened on N. China Lake Blvd. becoming the organization's 8th retail store. |
| 2001: | 19th and Q St. store relocated in Downtown Bakersfield to Chester Ave. and 18th St. |
| 2005: | Olive Drive Store relocated to a larger facility in the Olive Drive Shopping Center. |
| 2005: | Taft location opened on Finley Dr. becoming the organization's 9th retail store. |
| 2006: | Union Clearance Center opened in Bakersfield on Union Ave. becoming the organization's 10th retail store. |
| 2006: | Coffee Road location opened in Bakersfield on Coffee Rd. becoming the organization's 11th retail store. |
| 2011: | Union and Stine Clearance Centers closed after organization implemented 100% decentralized processing model. |
| 2011: | Stine Warehouse transformed into the Stine Salvage Center. |
| 2011: | Porterville location opened on W. Henderson Ave. becoming the organization's 10th retail store and first outside Kern County. |
| 2011: | Tulare location opened on E. Tulare Ave. becoming the organization's 11th retail store and second in Tulare County. |
| 2011: | Downtown Center closed after organization implemented 100% decentralized mission services model. |
